Sony has announced that, in an effort to meet their March sales target, no one should bother buying a PlayStation 3 until June 12th.
In a posting on the PlayStation blog, Sony explained that with the April release of the Dual Shock 3 controller and a new PlayStation 3 bundle on June 12th, there's simply no reason to buy a PS3 until then.
"You'd have to be an idiot to buy a PS3 now," a spokesman for Sony explained. "There's so much cool PS3 stuff coming in a few months, that there's absolutely no reason why anyone would want to buy one now."
When asked if Sony still expected to meet their March sales targets, the spokesman answered "well, there's one born every day, right? After all, why else would Blu-Ray win?"
This post is intended as satire. Although the bit about Sony releasing a new bundle in three months with nothing to fill the gap is both true and their own dumb fault.
