We're pleased to announce that we'll be releasing two new realms tomorrow after the morning's scheduled maintenance, which is slated to conclude at approximately 11AM PST. These two new realms will be part of the new RP-PvP realm type. The names of these realms are as follows:
Emerald Dream
Maelstrom
So get out that pad and paper and begin brainstorming ideas for a good name to call your new character!
Combined with the earlier news of extended maintenance, I think it's safe to say that we'll be seeing patch 1.7 tomorrow.
This hit the forums today, so I might as well post it here too. Thundgot created a list of Warlock concerns (which is strangely similar to Eyonix's list...).
What changes are we likely to see based on that list? My guess is absolutely none. Eyonix already did something like that, and based on the recent Battle Plan Vol. 2 post, the developers are done with the warlock class, regardless of the fact that Soul Shards can never work.
Shane Dabiri (aka "Drake") has posted the latest World of Warcraft Battle Plan on the WoW forums.

Since the last World of Warcraft Battle Plan, much has happened in the Warcraft universe. We’ve launched Blackwing Lair, the highest level dungeon in the game, we launched World of Warcraft in China and Singapore with great success, and work continues on adding even more content for our players.
BlizzCon is quickly approaching, and we're preparing the lineup of programs, dev chats, and the concert to be held at our inaugural event. I’m very happy to announce that we'll have the first public showing of the expansion for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon. Attendees will be able to view the work that is going into the project and hear some of the eagerly awaited details. To those of you who won’t be able to make it to the show, please keep an eye out for the game magazines that will be hitting newsstands right around BlizzCon, because some of them will feature in-depth articles on the expansion with plenty of information about how World of Warcraft will be evolving.
I've created an RSS feed for the World of Warcraft section of my site. You can keep up-to-date on what's happening in WoW and with my addons through this RSS feed.

Caydiem has confirmed that we won't be seeing 1.7 very soon. Which is too bad, since I have some updated features for the SimpleInventory AddOn which I'm planning on releasing when 1.7 goes live.
First off, I've added a new "Sort by bag" checkbox for the bank and main inventories. When this is selected, the simple inventory display lists your bags and displays the items located in each bag. You can move items between bags in this way.
Secondly, I've added a Lua function that allows you to get the count of the number of items of a given name you currently have. This can be used in mac
Caydiem lets us know that there will be delays due to a facilities problem. Facilities problem? Building on fire?

Not satisfied with the current Defense nerf, Ordinn let's us know that healing bonuses will no longer effect item effects, including enchantments.

The Darkmoon Card: Heroism and Aegis of Preservation trinkets will no longer receive bonuses to the healing they grant from any + healing items the wearer might have.
In addition, in Patch 1.7 all item based self heals will no longer be effected by equipment that provides bonuses to healing. This change affects both the Arcanite Champion and the Crusader Enchantment.
