PAX East 2013 - Day 2

Well, I'm a bit tired - tired enough that I never got around to writing a summary of Day 2 last night. So I guess it's time to write up what I've got to say about it.

The only new game I really saw was Watchdogs, but there's really nothing new to say about it. Unless the PS4 release is news. It's a game set in a computer-controlled Chicago that the player character can "hack" with his smartphone. Still looks as interesting as it always did, but it's still made by Ubisoft which makes me wary about the DRM that will kill the PC version.

I also got to play a bit of Metro: Last Light, but other than watching a "test kit" Xbox 360 crash, there's not much to say. It's a first person shooter. I suck at those on PC, and am even worse with a gamepad. Especially the Xbox 360 gamepad where I have trouble remembering where the buttons are, since they're arranged differently from Nintendo controllers. (Quick! Hit X! Nope, that's Y, not X!)

But PAX isn't just about the expo floor, there are also panels to attend. The only panel I really feel like talking about is the Cards Against Humanity panel, where they went over new card ideas from a couple of people from Giant Bomb before throwing it open to audience suggestions. At the end, they gave out milk and cookies to everyone. No, seriously, they did.

And that's basically it for my second day at PAX East. It's time to head out for Day 3.
